Renewals, Address Changes, And Upgrades
If you are already licensed, the work is the boring stuff. Keeping your file clean. Adding handguns properly. Upgrading from Premises to Carry. Moving without breaking your license. We handle it.
What we handle
- Three-year renewals. The standard renewal cycle for NYC licenses. We file early so you do not risk a lapse.
- Address changes. Moved within the city or to another county. Your license has to follow you correctly.
- Name changes. Marriage, divorce, court-ordered. We make sure your name is consistent across every system.
- Adding a handgun. Each handgun you possess has to be added to your license within the required window. Miss that window and you have a problem.
- Removing a handgun. Sales, gifts, estate transfers. All need to be reflected on your license.
- Premises to Carry upgrade. Amendment to your existing file, plus CCIA training, plus updated supporting documents.
- Lost or stolen license card replacement. Documented and filed quickly.
Why bother with help on a renewal?
Renewals look simple until something goes wrong. We see two scenarios most often.
One: you have moved, changed jobs, gotten married, or had a minor legal issue in the last three years and you are not sure what to disclose or how. The renewal is when the unit re-reviews you. Disclose wrong or skip something and you can have problems.
Two: you are simply too busy to chase the paperwork. The renewal window is real and the consequences of letting it lapse are bad enough that paying someone to track it for you is worth it.
How long it takes
Renewals are faster than new applications, usually a few weeks to a few months. Amendments (adding a handgun, address change) are typically faster still. Upgrades (Premises to Carry) take longer because the CCIA training is involved.

FAQ
When do I need to renew?
Renewals are due every three years for NYC pistol licenses. Start at least 90 days before your expiration date.
What if my license already lapsed?
Call us today. Depending on how long it has been lapsed, you may be looking at a reapplication or an expedited renewal path. Do not handle any firearms in the meantime.
Do I have to redo the training when I renew?
Generally no. The training is a one-time requirement for the initial CCW license. Renewals do not currently require a full re-take, although the unit can ask for a refresher in some situations.
Can you do this remotely?
Most of the renewal work, yes. There are points where you have to appear in person (fingerprinting if required, certain document submissions), and we coordinate those around your schedule.
Get Your Renewal On The Calendar
